Join us at the Skinner Cabin Trail. The trail to the cabin is a maintained trail for easy access to this historical building, however, continuation into the loop is severely unmaintained and wild. It is recommended for hikers who do not feel comfortable traversing difficult terrain to turn around at the Cabin.

We will meet at the Fruita Paleo Loop trailhead, located at, coordinates 39.151469, -108.762766, Fruita, CO 81521.

Driving directions: From Grand Junction, drive 10 miles west on Highway 340. Turn left on Kingsview Rd and continue for 1.2 miles. Continue onto Horsethief Canyon Rd and drive for 1 mile. Turn left into the Fuita Paleo Loop Trailhead.

Suggested parking: Fruita Paleo Loop trailhead  parking lot.

Restrooms and Water: This hiking trail has a vault toilet.

Hike length: This trail is approximately 1.8 miles in length with an elevation gain of 131 ft.

Hiking Recommendations:  Please make sure to wear comfortable clothes and shoes for hiking. Bringing a water bottle, bug protection, hiking poles, and sun protection are highly recommended.
